Slack, for alerts and for answers
Slack works with orbitbase in two ways. Alerts post into a team channel when a conversation needs a person. The Slack channel lets people direct-message your agent. Use either one, or both.

What Slack adds
Alerts with context
Who the customer is, where they wrote from and a link back to the conversation, in the channel you choose.
Answers in DMs
Connect Slack on the Channels page as well and people can message your agent one-to-one.
One app, two connections
Both use the same Slack app, but each one connects and disconnects independently.
No inbox watching
Urgent handoffs reach your team in Slack, where they already are.
Connect Slack
- Step 1
Open Settings → Integrations and connect Slack.
- Step 2
Add a Slack action on the Actions page and pick a channel.
- Step 3
To let people DM the agent too, connect Slack on the Channels page.
Good to know
Disconnecting alerts leaves the Slack channel working, and the other way round.
Questions
No. Teams that want alerts often don't want customers messaging a bot in Slack, and the reverse. Pick what fits.
The channel you choose on the action. Add another Slack action to alert a different channel.
